World We Dare to Imagine - PT III

World We Dare to Imagine PT III Anastazja Ball The Greater Good of the Garden Foundation (GGG) pitch to Anima Mundi Development Partners The world is slowly starting to turn into a big pile of hot garbage; everything is made of plastic and coated in who knows what. From our playgrounds to the fruits in our grocery stores, people are desperately seeking fresh alternatives and natural environments to disconnect and come back to what’s raw and real. Gardens are almost non-existent in the common person's lives, as well as the knowledge of how beneficial they are. When was the last time you ran through a garden with your feet in the grass, picked your own berries, watched your own seeds develop and grow over time?  The Mission Greater Good of the Garden Foundation is a foundation created to put gardens and greenery back into the community. A community garden is a two-in-one deal that provides a safe space for individuals to gather in nature, as well as growing a wide variety of f...

WORLD WE IMAGINE - Part 1

Anastazja Ball World We Imagine Part 1 Since my childhood, I have always thought back to the garden plot my family on my mothers side had owned, one patch of many that lied amongst the Polish countryside. I miss it dearly, I miss running around in the fields with the smell of fresh dirt, sweet trees, and the smell of polish food being fried in the shed. I miss the warm tea that warmed us up with the sun in the morning, and spending hours with my little brother picking raspberries off the bushes and carrots out of the ground. That feeling is one of the most memorable moments from my childhood, one that is so personal and shaping to my connection with food, family, and the earth. If I had the chance to change the world, even in the smallest of ways, I would advocate for gardens. There are many reasons gardens are so important, from the obvious ability to learn how to grow and eat your own food, learning to tend to nature and have patience with the seeds you have planted, but also ju...

Today, I officially booked my flight out of here. My last day living in Los Angeles will be December 19th, my last day as an official student and Los Angeles resident. I also booked my flight out of the United States. My last day in the United States will be January 16th,  2025, where I will officially begin my journey in Brasil and living overseas.  I took a leap of faith and became a DJ my freshman year of school, and now I am living and working in that same position, touring the world and doing shows in major cities. Coming to USC I had never expected that to happen, so it is a really special (and proud moment) for myself. So my next step will be studying music and working a few shows in Brasil, until the next part of my journey makes sense for me.  Truthfully, I am TERRIFIED! I always remembered seniors talking about this anxiety that came with graduation, but never could comprehend how intense these feelings are. I've only got about 6 weeks left of school, and ...

Book 2, Post 2

REVIEW FINAL For Book 2, I would like to read  Holy Envy: Finding God in the Faith of Others.  At this point in my life, I have myself questioning what the next steps into my religious journey look like, and this book stood out to me. While looking at the list, I actually had a challenging time deciding what I wanted to read as everything from the self guidance books to ancient wisdom seemed fascinating and could apply to what I am looking to learn more about myself. Holy Envy stood out as I feel like Spiritual guidance is something I am missing in my life, and this book covers the experience of undoing what we already knew and learning what “God” means to us.  I grew up Roman Catholic, was baptized in a Polish church, and raised under the Polish Religion for a large portion of my life. I didn’t understand it much, nor align with it. Eventually going into middle and high school, I joined my childhood best friends christian youth group, continuing my religious exper...

I would like to take this time to write about a situation occurring on TikTok. Yes, on TikTok but I personally think it’s very shocking. There is a famous user named Mr. Prada on the social media platform TikTok. Terryon Thomas, famously known as Mr. Prada was a famous creator who often copied other creators content in a satirical way, but eventually grew to have his own personality and content, garnering over 8 million followers between two different accounts he created. Over the past couple of months, users had noticed that he seemed to be changing rapidly; his mental health deteriorating as he began behaving more erratically on social media, changing his appearance, shaving his head, and posting content out of the ordinary compared to his usual posts. I woke up one morning to my feed filled with content surrounding this creator, and it was shockingly not what I was prepared to see.   I woke up early one morning to find that Mr. Prada, or Terryon Thomas, had been accused o...
